GREENSBORO — Mason and Bentley Puckett tragically died on June 29 in an accidental drowning, according to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Puckett, Mason and Bentley’s father, described his children as “everything.â€
“You couldn’t not love them,†Puckett said. “They were everything. They love four wheelers, they love balls, they love their daddy, they were outside boys. They had to be outside all the time.â€
Bentley was 3 years old, Puckett said. He was just beginning riding his four wheeler by himself. Bentley also enjoyed riding a four wheeler with his older brother, Mikey, who Bentley called “his Mikey.â€
“I mean he was life,†Puckett said about Bentley. “From the time he got up to the time he went to sleep, he was outside playing. He stole everybody’s heart. If you met him, you had no choice but to love the boy.â€
Mason was 1 year old. Puckett described Mason as just like his brother Bentley, but Mason loved his balls.
“He stole everybody’s hearts, he loved his balls, and he loved riding four wheelers,†Puckett said.
Puckett said the relationship between Mason and Bentley was unmatched.
“They were close,†Puckett said. “Of course, they fought like brother sometimes. Bentley was not a morning person and Mason was. When they woke up, Mason wanted to give his brother kisses and hugs, and Bentley didn’t want nothing to do with him. They always just wanted to go outside, I don’t care if it was rain, cold or nothing, they wanted to go outside.â€
Mason and Bentley have seven siblings who they loved dearly. Puckett said they were both close with all of them. They also loved their cousins dearly, Puckett said.
