I concur with the letter to the editor in the Dec. 7-8 edition of the Star Dem, entitled, "Carrier did stellar job," by Joan Wetmore.
Andre Thurman delivered the newspaper to my home for more than five years, and was the best newspaper delivery person that I can remember, (and I'm in my 80s).
I shall quote words from his Christmas note, received early December.
"It's hard to say goodbye.
If I could turn back time.
If I could just find a way.
If I could do it again.
Then it would be me delivering your
paper each and every day."
It is also my Christmas wish that Andre would again be delivering my Star Dem newspaper.
Now the paper gets to my community mailbox usually after 5 p.m., as it's the last stop on the postal route. I retrieve it the following morning. Not a bad walk to the mailbox when the weather is good, but not so in a cold and windy rain.
Please let Mr. Thurman deliver the Star Dem to my home. Far better than using the postal service!
