Crews work to remedy a water main break on North Washington Street on Thursday morning.
EASTON — The intersection of North Washington and North Harrison streets closed Thursday due to a water main break in front of the Easton Utilities building.
Around 3 a.m. Thursday morning, the Talbot County Department of Emergency Services announced the closure of North Washington Street due to a water main break.
Then at 7 a.m., officials said the intersection of North Washington and North Harrison streets was completely closed.Â
Late Thursday morning, crews tended to the water main break on the street outside of Easton Utilities. Crew members are spotted up and down North Washington Street to redirect traffic.
A spokesperson for Easton Utilities says crews are making repairs "with as minimal impact to customers as possible." Work will continue into Thursday evening before the road is reopened, the spokesperson said.
Easton Utilities' customer service center is closed due to the incident. Anyone looking to make a payment is asked to call 410-822-6110.
