“Heat pumps typically operate at about 60% capacity when it’s 20 degrees outside. Our new equipment operates with 100% capacity at 20 degrees. That’s a huge difference when it comes to keeping your home warm and your electric bill down,†Hadaway said.
“When you get in to the single digits, a heat pump will go way down to around 10% capacity, whereas the Mitsubishi will operate at 100% capacity all the way down to 5 degrees. There’s just no comparison. It’s a big game changer. The compressor system is able to deliver heat even when outdoor temperatures are as low as -13 degrees. You no longer need supplemental heat sources to maintain comfort or separate heating and cooling systems to provide heating in the winter and cooling in the summer.â€
One of the best things about this advancement is “instant heat.†There’s no warm up period when the heat comes on.
“Instant heat is nice for few reasons. It’s hot as soon as it comes on; and, you will use less electricity as a result. I’ve never seen anything like what this new equipment is capable of. If you’re going to put in a new HVAC system, this has to be on the top of your list,†he said.
