Talbot County Roads Department will be performing improvements to Airport Road for two weeks beginning Monday, Aug. 5.
Airport Road between Route 662 and Newnam Road will be temporarily closed to all traffic each day between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“Although the closure is scheduled for two weeks, we will work to complete the improvements as soon as possible. If work is not being performed on a specific day during this period, the roadway will remain open,†said County Roads Superintendent Brian Moore.
The closure is part of ongoing efforts to enhance local roads around the future site of the Shore Health Regional Medical Center, which will span over 230 acres off Longwoods Road near the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and adjacent to the Talbot County Community Center. Increased traffic on local roads is anticipated due to the expected closure of Route 662 in October.
