EASTON — The fourth annual Cover Your Chin for Charity growing and giving competition will kick off Friday, Oct. 14.
Men on the Mid-Shore will shave their facial fuzz and then put the razor away for three months of scruffiness to raise money for local charities.
The focus of CYCC is to give back to others. This year’s charities include Talbot Mentors, Chesapeake Cats and Dogs and the Mental Health Association Talbot County’s Veteran’s Emergency Fund.
New this year, CYCC will introduce the Nate Southworth Choose Joy Humanitarian Award.
The closing ceremony will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Waterfowl Building in Easton. A panel of judges will critique each “grower†as they strut their stuff on stage. Awards will be given for best mustache, best partial beard, best full beard and best existing beard.
The event also will feature beer, wine, food, a 50/50 raffle, dancing, and music by DJ Groundhog. The event will culminate with the “Crowning of the King†— the grower who collects the most donations.
