CENTREVILLE — Maryland State Police troopers responded to a single motor vehicle collision, Friday, Feb. 1, a news release states.
Officers were alerted to a vehicle that had crashed while heading south on U.S. Route 301. Troopers found a pickup truck, a 2003 Chevy Silverado, had traveled off the road into a wood line, hitting a tree. The driver, a juvenile and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was entrapped, the release states.
Due to winter weather conditions, Maryland State Police aviation was not available. The driver was extricated by the fire department and was taken by ground to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded to the scene for further investigation, the release states.
