A serious accident in Queen Anne’s County claimed the life of a Pittsburgh woman July 25. Two others were also injured in the two-vehicle crash in Sudlersville, according to Maryland State Police.
Lisa Marie Arisman, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the front-seat passenger in a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu that collided with a 2020 Nissan Frontier shortly before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Sudlersville Road and Duhamel Corner Road.
The Malibu’s driver, John Arisman, 58, also of Pittsburgh, was injured and transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
The Nissan Frontier was driven by Kyle Wayne Crossly of Sudlersville. He was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware for treatment.
According to a preliminary investigation, the Nissan was traveling west on Sudlersville Road when it failed to properly navigate a curve, crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the Malibu head-on.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation with assistance from the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
Officials from the Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company reported the vehicle carrying the Arismans was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. Firefighters from Sudlersville and surrounding departments spent about five hours on scene extinguishing the fire, providing EMS care, and assisting state police.
