EASTON — Families began lining the ticket booth at 6 p.m. to ride rides, eat a funnel cake, drink lemonade or to play one of the many games offered at Easton’s annual Fourth of July Carnival.
The carnival began on June 20 and goes through July 4. The Independence Day celebration will include all of the same carnival festivities from the days prior with an addition of live music beginning at 6 p.m. and fireworks after dusk.
For St. Â鶹´«Ã½ Elementary School teacher Kelly Coutts, the carnival has become a tradition for her two kids, Millie and Teddy. “They look forward to this every year,†she said.
Coutts had been in Peru for the past week after receiving a Fulbright Teacher Exchange Award last year. Her children waited for her to return to go to the carnival Tuesday. “When I got back last night, they were like oh we have to go,†Coutts said.
It cost $5 to park near the carnival, and wristbands for unlimited rides cost $23 with a $5 off coupon, according to Discover Easton. Every evening, the event goes until 11 p.m. On July 3, the carnival opens at 6 p.m., and on July 4, the event begins at 4 p.m.
